Privacy Policy
- Your videos, photos, voice-overs and projects stay on your device. They are never uploaded to us, to Google or to any cloud service.
- The app only sees the media and files you pick with the system picker.
- The microphone is used only to record voice-overs.
- The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. To show them, Google receives your advertising ID, IP address, device information and ad interactions (section 6). You can change ad consent in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- No account, no analytics of our own, no in-app purchases.
- Videos leave your device only when you save them to your gallery or share them yourself.
This Privacy Policy explains how QuickShoot (the "App"), published by Balliram ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. In short: the App edits your videos entirely on your device, and your videos, photos, voice-overs and projects never leave it unless you save or share them. The App has no account. It is free and shows ads from Google AdMob; to show them, Google receives some device and usage information, described in section 6.
1. Media you choose to import
You add videos, photos, music and sound files through your device's system picker (the Android Photo Picker or document picker, or the iOS photo picker or Files). The App can only see the items you select; it does not ask for access to your whole photo library or storage.
So that editing keeps working, the App makes a private copy of each item you import, stored in the App's own storage on your device. Your original files are never changed.
You can also import font files (for titles), subtitle files (.srt) and colour look-up tables (.cube). These are also copied into the App's private storage and used only for your edits.
2. Microphone (voice-over)
The microphone is used only when you record a voice-over, and the App asks for the Microphone permission the first time. The recording is saved as an audio file inside the project, in the App's private storage. It is not uploaded anywhere.
3. On-device processing
All editing, previews, thumbnails, waveforms, effects, beat detection and exports are processed on your device.
Remove background (on supported devices) uses a machine-learning model that is bundled with the App and runs entirely on your device to separate a person from the background. Your frames are not sent to us or to any cloud service, and the model does not identify who anyone is.
4. Projects and storage
Your projects (the edit decisions, titles, settings and the imported copies described above) are saved automatically in the App's private storage on your device, together with caches such as thumbnails and waveforms. Exported videos are first written to the App's private storage.
- Deleting a project removes it and its imported media from the App. Your original files are not affected.
- Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data, deletes all projects, imported copies, exports kept in the App and settings.
- The App also remembers which version of this policy and the Terms of Use you agreed to.
5. Saving and sharing your videos
- Save to gallery: when you tap it, the exported video is saved to your device's gallery (on Android in Movies/QuickShoot; on iOS in Photos, after you allow the App to add photos). It then stays there until you delete it.
- Share: opens your device's share sheet. The video goes only to the app or person you choose, and what happens next is governed by that app's own terms and privacy policy.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and shows banner and native ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC; Google Ireland Limited in the EEA, UK and Switzerland). To choose, show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App collects and sends to Google:
- your device's advertising ID (Android advertising ID);
- your IP address, from which an approximate location can be derived;
- device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version;
- ad interactions (which ads were shown or tapped) and diagnostics about ad loading.
Google uses this information under its own privacy policy and explains how it uses data from partner apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent with Google's consent form before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. Without consent, Google may show non-personalised ads, which still use limited data for frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement.
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings (Privacy → Ads, or Google → Ads).
Ads never receive your videos, photos, voice-overs, projects or anything you edit. Ads need an internet connection; everything else in the App works offline.
7. What we do not collect
We, the publisher, do not collect, receive or store personal information: we have no servers that receive data from the App. The App has no account or sign-in, no analytics or crash-reporting services of our own and no in-app purchases, and it does not upload your media, projects or editing activity. The only data that leaves your device automatically is the advertising data described in section 6, which goes to Google.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you.
8. Permissions the App uses
- Microphone: only to record voice-overs.
- Internet and network state: only to load ads.
- Advertising ID (Android): used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described in section 6.
- Photos (iOS, add only): to save exported videos to Photos when you tap Save to gallery.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save exported videos to the gallery. Newer Android versions need no storage permission.
Media is selected with the system pickers, which need no photo or storage permission. The App does not use your camera, precise location or contacts.
9. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. The advertising data described in section 6 is shared with Google to show and measure ads; under some US state laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA) this can count as "sharing" for targeted advertising. You can opt out of personalised ads in Settings → Ad privacy choices (where offered) or in your device's ad settings. Your media leaves your device only when you save or share it yourself.
10. Security
Your projects and imported media are kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read, and are protected by your device's security (such as its screen lock and encryption). Videos you save to the gallery or share can be seen by other apps or people with access to them.
11. Children
The App is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13, and its ads are not intended for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information. Your projects and media stay on your device, so you control them directly by deleting projects or uninstalling the App. For advertising data held by Google, use Settings → Ad privacy choices, your device's ad settings or myadcenter.google.com. You can also contact us with any question.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, the App will show you the new version and ask you to agree before you continue.
