Privacy Policy
- Your camera video goes straight from your phone to the devices that open its stream link, normally on the same Wi-Fi. We never upload, record or store it.
- Microphone audio is shared only if you turn on Share audio.
- The stream has no password and is not encrypted: only stream on networks you trust.
- We do not ask for an account, your name, email, contacts, location or files.
- The free app shows ads from Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers as described below.
This Privacy Policy explains how Live IP Camera (the "App"), published by Balliram ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. The App has no account and never asks for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location or files.
1. Camera video
The App uses your camera only after you allow the Camera permission, to show a preview and to create the live stream. When you tap "Start server", the App runs a small web server on your phone and sends the video directly from your phone to the browsers or players that connect to it.
- Video frames are processed in your phone's memory and sent only to the devices that connect to your phone's address.
- The App does not record or save video on your phone, and never sends it to us or to any cloud service. We cannot see your stream.
- On Android, the stream keeps running when you minimise the App or turn the screen off, and a notification is shown the whole time. The stream stops when you tap "Stop server", tap "Stop" in the notification, or close the App from recent apps.
2. Microphone audio
The microphone is used only while "Share audio" is switched on (it is off by default and the App asks for the Microphone permission the first time). Audio is streamed live to connected viewers in the same way as video. The App does not record, store or upload it.
3. Who can view your stream
While the server is running, anyone who can reach your phone on the network and opens its address (for example http://192.168.1.42:8080) can watch the video, take snapshots and, if "Share audio" is on, listen. Normally that means devices on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot.
- The stream is served over plain HTTP. It is not encrypted and has no password, so other people on the same network may be able to view or intercept it.
- The App shows how many viewers are connected.
- Only stream on networks you trust, avoid public Wi-Fi, and stop the server when you are not using it.
4. Recordings made by viewers
The viewer page in the browser has Record and Snapshot buttons. Recordings and snapshots are made by the viewer's own browser and saved only on that viewer's device. They are never sent to the phone, to us or to any server. Whoever makes a recording is responsible for it.
5. Information stored on your device
The App saves only a few settings on your phone: which version of this policy and the Terms of Use you agreed to, and whether you have seen the streaming and microphone notices. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its data, deletes them.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob. To deliver, measure and (where you allow it) personalise ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID;
- IP address, and an approximate location derived from it;
- device and app information (model, operating system, app version, language);
- ad interactions (impressions and taps) and diagnostics such as crash logs.
This data is collected and handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy); see also policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We do not receive your Advertising ID or other personal information from these ads. The ads SDK never receives your camera video or microphone audio.
7. Your choices and consent
- Ad consent: in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message is shown before personalised ads are used. Change your choice any time from the App menu → Ad privacy settings.
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads).
- Camera, microphone and notifications: allow or deny them when asked, or later in your device settings.
8. Permissions the App uses
- Camera: to capture the live video you choose to stream.
- Microphone: only when you turn on "Share audio", so viewers can listen.
- Internet and network state: to run the stream server, show your network address and load ads.
- Local network (iOS): so other devices on your Wi-Fi can view the stream.
- Wake lock: to keep the device and Wi-Fi awake while streaming.
- Foreground service (camera, microphone): to keep streaming in the background on Android, with a visible notification.
- Notifications: to show the "streaming live" notification with a Stop button.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob as described above.
9. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. Apart from the data collected directly by Google AdMob described above, the App sends nothing to us or to other third parties. Your video and audio go only to the viewers that connect to your phone.
10. Data retention and security
We keep no personal information on our own servers, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete, and the App has no account to delete. Settings stay on your phone until you uninstall the App or clear its data. Data collected by Google is kept according to Google's policies. See section 3 for the security of the stream.
11. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will help address it.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to its processing. As we keep no personal information ourselves, most requests are handled by Google; you can also contact us and we will help.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, the App will show you the new version and ask you to agree before you continue.
